Name: Nick Woods
Hometown: Shuswap BC Canada
Current location: Blue River BC / Shuswap Lake
Sport: Backcountry/Freestyle Snowmobile
Riding style: “I love all aspects of the spot, be it for technical tree riding, to big airs, drops, and tech downhill lines, to holding it pinned down the trail. I pretty much just try to keep progressing each year. Style and smoothness are the most important to me."
How did you get your start: “My old man has been into the spot sine the early 80's , so I was lucky enough to be born into it."
Favorite TOBE Gear: “Novo Mono Suit, Vivid BOA boot, with Capto light gloves, because there is nothing more comfy and dry as a TOBE mono. Unreal ankle support for those hard landing with the boot. The thin gloves with the leather palms keep me glued to the bars.”
What makes TOBE the ideal gear for you? “It comes down to the high quality that TOBE nails on every piece of their product. I spend up to 14 hours a day in the backcountry, and coming back completely dry and comfortable at the end of each day is huge for me.”
Favorite zones: “Salmon, Big blue”
Plans and goals for this season: “I’ll be Living in Blue River again this season, where I will be guiding for Blue River Sledz , operating the groomer for the local sled club, Filming segments, Attending local hill climb races, and just putting on hard miles with fellow TOBE rider Jamie Iwaschuk. ”
Biggest Accomplishment: “Filming for projects like Sled Necks 17/18, 509, Brap Films, All IN. Riding out one of the biggest airs in the sport.”
Inspiration: " Riding with athletes like Brett Turcotte, Aad KJ when I was getting into jumping really opened my eyes. It’s the best way to progress, pushing each other to get out of you comfort zone. Riding with other good riders inspires me the most."
Anything else people should know about you: "Swing hammer in the summer, Also, I like to get out on my DH bike, and fish. Thanks to all the companies that support me: TOBE Outerwear, Mighty Peace Power Sport, MSD, High Mark By Snow Pulse , CFR, Munster Finger Throttles, Blue River Sledz , Sled Blue River."
